German Defense Minister Lambrecht: Now it’s more difficult than ever to understand Putin’s strategy
Minister of Defense Germany Christina Lambrecht declared a lack of understanding of the strategy of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. She announced this on the air of the German TV channel ZDF, reports RIA News.
“Now it’s more difficult than ever to get into Putin’s head, to understand his strategy, but that doesn’t stop us,” she said. Thus, the head of the German Ministry of Defense answered the question of whether after the referendums in the East Ukraine strikes against this territory shall be equated with strikes against Russia followed by a nuclear reaction.
According to Lambrecht, Berlin perceives statements about threats of nuclear weapons as attempts to intimidate in order to divide NATO and his allies who support Kyiv. She stressed that this will not happen, as the West will “continue to stand on the side of Ukraine.”
Previously President Serbia Alexander Vucic declared about the lack of bluff in the words of Russian leader Vladimir Putin about protecting Russia with nuclear weapons. He expressed the hope that “peace will come and everyone will do their best to find a compromise solution.” According to the Serbian leader, this is “much better than waiting for the defeat of the other side.”
