Hungarian Prime Minister Orban: Lifting sanctions on Russia will help Europe’s economy avoid recession
Prime Minister Hungary Viktor Orban named the advantages of lifting sanctions from Russia for Europe, in particular, lower prices and inflation. About it informs local newspaper Magyar Nemzet.
According to the head of the Hungarian government, the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions will have a positive impact on the European economy, help it recover and avoid an approaching recession. Orban again shared his opinion that the cause of economic problems, the energy crisis and inflation is precisely the introduction of restrictions.
“When in Brussels at the beginning of the summer, these sanctions were introduced, the European bureaucrats did not promise this. They promised that the sanctions would hit Russia, not the Europeans. Since then, it has become clear that the sanctions imposed are causing more damage to Europe than to Russia,” he said. The Hungarian prime minister urged members of the ruling coalition to make every effort to lift restrictions by Europe no later than the end of this year.
Formerly Orban counted failed Western attempts to weaken Russia. He stressed that the introduction of 11,000 anti-Russian sanctions was unsuccessful.
