In 2021, Anastasia quit her job at school and started doing PR and SMM remotely. This allowed her to fulfill an old dream and move to Istanbul. “The adaptation period went very smoothly. People, culture, way of life,” she said.
Over time, the Russian woman became more and more familiar with Turkish culture and noticed several features of the local residents. According to her, the Turks never answer “no” directly. Instead, they may say, “Let’s go tomorrow?” Or: “We can try, but later.”
For those who value punctuality, the Russian woman warned that the Turks are always late. “They have a completely different sense of time – perhaps this is due to the atmosphere of the city. If in Moscow you are late for 15-20 minutes, this is already a lot, and in Turkey being late for an hour and a half is the norm, ”she explained.
