Tomorrow, the Arctic Tourism Center will host the opening of the sculptural group “Reviving Tales of the Nenets Land” by master Nikolai Vylka
Event: Arctic Tourism Center
The exhibition is dedicated to the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia. The main theme of the sculptural group will be the Nenets epic and legends of the northern people.
– Thanks to the grant, we were able to implement an interesting idea. Using the example of our culture, we want to show the uniqueness of the region. The Nenets epic is part of the great cultural heritage of the peoples, it is known to a limited number of people, and we want to carry it to the masses, – said Marianna Chapovskaya, Deputy Director of the Arctic Tourism Center.
Also, people will get acquainted with the work of the Nenets master Nikolai Vylka. He had been preparing for the exhibition for a month. As with each of his works, he was enthusiastic about new sculptures.
– Everything is made of wood, only the frame and stand are made of metal. These will be four sculptures symbolizing different elements. Deer – earth, pike – water, raven – air, chum – fire. The latter is a large installation, there is also a woman, a dog, a hearth and Christmas trees, – the master of wood and bone carving shares.
Each of the works will be accompanied by stories and legends: Nenets fairy tales will become a kind of story and a garter for installations that will help to better understand the national flavor of our region.
It should be noted that the implementation of the project became possible thanks to the grant support of PJSC LUKOIL.
Entrance to the exhibition is free. Beginning at 12:00 on the territory of the Arctic Tourism Center.
