Zhanibek Alimkhanuly found out the opponent and the date of the next fight for the WBO title

ASTANA. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan’s WBO middleweight champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuly will defend his belt for the first time, Kazinform reports with reference to

The undefeated native of Kazakhstan and Englishman Denzel Bentley have agreed to meet in the 12-round ESPN+ main event, which will be broadcast on November 12 in Las Vegas. Bentley is ranked 14th among contenders for the WBO 160-pound world title, but Alimkhanuly is currently not required to make a mandatory defense of the WBO belt he won by defeating England’s Danny Dignum in the second round of their May 21 bout at Resorts World, Las Vegas.

Alimkhanuly replaced Oscar Valdez as Top Rank’s headliner for the November 12 show. Mexican Valdes (30-1, 23 KOs), a former WBO featherweight and WBO junior lightweight champion, has been forced to delay his return to the ring until January due to a recent non-boxing injury that left him couldn’t train.

Alimkhanuly, 29 (12-0, 8 KOs), won the WBO interim title by knocking out Dignum (14-1-1, 8 KOs) four months ago. The interim tag has since been removed from Alimkhanuly’s championship because former WBO 160lb champ Demetrius Andrade decided to move up to the 168lb super middleweight limit instead of fighting Alimkhanuly next.

Previously reportedthat Zhanibek Alimkhanuly became a full-fledged WBO middleweight champion. On his Twitter page, a boxer from Kazakhstan published photo of the world champion belt and left the following description: “Champion belt in Kazakhstan!”.

head of state congratulated boxer Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.

“We are in America. Fight in November! Las Vegas, you have a show you must go to! In November you will see a new champion. Come with sunglasses. Because I will shine in the ring! ”, – wrote Kazakhstani champion in a publication on his page on the social network, announcing the next fight.
