Uzbekistan suspends service of Mir cards from September 23

Since September 23, the unified republican processing center Uzcard has suspended the acceptance of Mir cards in Uzbekistan for technical reasons, including co-badged ones abroad. This was reported in Uzcard.

It is noted that the suspension of card servicing is related to “carrying out the necessary technical procedures on the side of the participant of the Uzcard payment system from 9:00 (7:00 Moscow time) on September 23.”

They also added that Uzcard-Mir co-badged cards in Uzbekistan operate as usual, writes RIA News.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan and Vietnam stopped accepting Mir cards. Prior to this, about the termination of service for Russian cards declared two Turkish banks, and in Armenia. At the same time, the Director General of the National Payment Card System, the operator of the Mir payment system, said that the level of noise and fears around cards abroad is somewhat exaggerated, they are still working both in Turkey and in other countries.
