ASTANA. KAZINFORM – An attempt to import undeclared iPhone 14 PRO cell phones into Kazakhstan in the amount of 11 pieces was revealed on September 21 at the capital’s airport at the customs post “Auezhay-Astana”. This was reported in the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports.
The import attempt was stopped by the customs officers together with the officers of the border service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the customs control of passengers arriving on an international flight from Dubai.
In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 31, 2015 No. 250, the criteria for classifying goods transported by individuals across the customs border of the Customs Union for personal use, mobile phones should not exceed 2 units per 1 person.
Undeclared cell phones were not put on sale and were moved to a temporary storage warehouse for further customs clearance.
Thus, a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be held administratively liable for not declaring cell phones.
Currently, the customs post “Auezhay-Astana” has strengthened control, verification activities are being carried out with related services of the Astana airport to prevent the transport of undeclared phones.
