“On September 21, employees of the Oral-CTO customs post of the State Revenue Department for the West Kazakhstan region, together with the border service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the course of controlling passengers departing on the Uralsk-Antalya international flight, detained a citizen of one of the EAEU countries.
At the time of his arrest, he was found to have cash in the amount of 14.5 million tenge (at the rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan as of September 21, equals $30,318). The violator carried this amount of money in a plastic bag along with things,” the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
An administrative penalty was imposed on the violator in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the norms of the Customs Code of the EAEU, the following are subject to customs declaration: cash and (or) traveler’s checks, if the total amount of such cash and (or) traveler’s checks during their one-time import into the customs territory of the Union or one-time export from the customs territory of the Union exceeds the equivalent of $10 thousand US at the exchange ratevalid on the day of submission of the passenger customs declaration to the customs authority.
