The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) obtained authorization to create the company “Turística Integral Islas Marías SA de CV”, which will be in charge of managing the goods and services of said archipelago.
According to a decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) this Thursday, this company will have an initial capital of one million pesos, of which 990 thousand pesos will be contributed by Semar and the rest will be given by the National Bank. of the Army, Air Force and Navy (Banjercito).

“The majority state-owned company may carry out all the necessary actions for the provision of tourist services considered to have low environmental impact, through the permits and authorizations that the corresponding authority grants for this purpose,” according to the publication.
In addition, Turística Integral Islas Marías may obtain, under any title, concessions, permits, licenses, authorizations and, in general, execute all the acts necessary to carry out its corporate purpose.
The decree highlighted that for the operation and creation of this company the budget will not be increased or an additional item will be given to Semar, both for the current fiscal year and for subsequent ones.
He added that the agency in charge of Rafael Ojeda Durán must notify the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) that the company was incorporated before a notary public, which will also be supervised by the Ministry of Public Administration (SFP).
The company’s registered office will be located in Mexico City, according to the DOF.
The archipelago located off the coast of Nayarit will be prepared for the practice of tourism and ecotourism.
