Washington remains open to cooperation with China within the framework of common interests, but condemns Beijing’s support for Moscow. This was announced on Friday, September 23, by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
“Blinken reiterated the US position on the condemnation of Russian military actions against Ukraine and outlined the possible consequences if China supports Moscow,” says in a statement from the US State Department.
China’s foreign minister said that Beijing adheres to an “objective and fair” position regarding the conflict in Ukraine. Wang Yi expressed hope that Moscow and Kyiv would not refuse dialogue and would insist on solving problems through negotiations.
