By the end of the week, they intend to submit a bill to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, which involves the payment by the state of monthly payments on mortgages and car loans to mobilized Russians. This was announced on Wednesday, September 21, by Vladimir Koshelev, First Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee for Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

“I think it’s right if, as a measure to support citizens mobilized for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the state will assume their obligations for monthly payments of mortgage and car loans,” he said. Koshelev’s words quotes TASS.

In his opinion, the proposed measure should be extended to “the entire period of service in the ranks of the Russian army.”

Previously, banks and microfinance organizations in Russia were recommended to give mobilized citizens credit holidays, including mortgages. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation advocated not to collect from such Russians delinquency on loans and not to demand them to fulfill obligations ahead of schedule.
