Information about the positive result of the doping sample B of the Olympic champion in figure skating in team competitions, 16-year-old Kamila Valieva, may be a provocation. About this on Tuesday, September 21, declared RIA Novosti head of the sports and education center “Sambo-70” Renat Laishev.

A positive test was announced by American journalist Dave Lives, citing a source. The head of “Sambo-70” believes that this information is unreliable. “This is stupidity. In the current political situation, they are throwing a fly in the ointment at us. They want to finish off a little girl,” Laishev said.

Previously in Valieva’s sample dated December 25, 2021 found a banned drug trimetazidine. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) suspended Valieva in February, but she successfully challenged it before the agency’s independent disciplinary committee. Later, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), despite appeals from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Skating Union (ISU) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), allowed Valieva to participate in the individual figure skater tournament at the Beijing Olympics, where she took fourth place .

At the Beijing Olympics, Valieva won gold in the team tournament. In addition, she is the 2022 European Champion.
