The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan supports the construction of a gas processing plant at Kashagan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM – Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with Guido Brusco, Chief Production Officer of Eni, and Luca Vignati, Director of Exploration and Production. This was reported by MIA “Kazinform” with reference to the press service of the Government.

Alikhan Smailov noted that the Government of Kazakhstan highly appreciates the company’s contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry of the republic and is determined to further strengthen long-term cooperation.

“We pay special attention to the full-scale development of the Kashagan field, maintaining oil and condensate production at the Karachaganak field and developing the gas industry,” the Prime Minister said.

He also added that the Government supports the consortium’s plans to build a gas processing plant at Kashagan with a capacity of 1 billion m3 together with QazaqGaz NC JSC.

In turn, Guido Brusco confirmed the long-term plans of the company to work in Kazakhstan.

“We will make the necessary decisions on existing projects in a timely manner and look for opportunities to implement new ones, including in the field of renewable energy. Thanks to the support of the Government, all emerging issues on projects are resolved in a working order,” Guido Brusco noted.
