ATYRAU. KAZINFORM Fighting fires that started on the coast of the Caspian Sea on September 16 continues in the Atyrau region. Today, a helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan was involved in fighting the fire, Kazinform correspondent reports.
“Today, 66 water drops were made from the helicopter MI-8 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine-5 of Kazaviaspas JSC of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. One open reed fire was extinguished on an approximate area of three hectares. Water is taken from the nearest lake, which is located at a distance of 1.5-2 kilometers from the burning reeds.
Two hectares of burning thickets were extinguished from the ground by the forces of the Department of Emergency Situations of the region. Seven hectares of the territory of the fire remain unextinguished,” the press service of the regional emergency department reported.
