ASTANA. KAZINFORM Pavlodar police seized more than a ton of crucian carp during a raid, Kazinform reports with reference to Polisia.kz.
The environmental police inspector and representatives of the fishery inspectorate conducted a raid on Lake Karasora in the Maisky district, 45 km from the Kazan rural district.
“On September 21, at about 03.00, three cars were found and detained, driven by 42 and 49-year-old residents of the region. During the inspection, 367 kg of crucian carp were found and seized in a Volkswagen Transporter car, 370 kg of fish in a UAZ car, and police found another 339 kg in a Lexus. The total weight of the seized fish was 1 ton 76 kg. The amount of damage was about 2 million tenge. In addition, rubber boats and Chinese-made mononets were found and seized in each car, which are prohibited for use in fishing,” said the first deputy head of the regional police department, Zhaskayrat Kairov.
The police found that these persons did not have the relevant documents for fishing, all citizens were taken to the Maisky district police department. On the fact of illegal fishing, a pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Examinations have been appointed.
This year, Pavlodar police officers stopped six cases of illegal fishing.
