The Norwegian authorities have decided from Thursday, September 22, to suspend the simplified visa regime with Russia. This was told in the immigration department of the kingdom.

Official Oslo announced that it adheres to the general recommendations of Brussels on visa restrictions for Russians, reports RIA News.

According to the statement of the Norwegian authorities, the suspension of the simplified visa regime for Russians is temporary. However, the possible timing of the renewal of this agreement is not reported.

On September 12, the decision of the EU Council to terminate the agreement came into force on the simplification of the visa regime between Russia and the European Union. Issuing visas for Russians has become more expensive and longer. The list of documents required to apply for a visa has become longer, and there are fewer opportunities for citizens of the Russian Federation to obtain a multiple-entry visa.

At the same time, the UN expressed the opinion that the visa restrictions imposed by European countries against Russians are not a good ideaalthough with the start of the Russian special operation, relations between Russia and the EU deteriorated in many aspects.
