Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday, September 22, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, had a conversation with a delegation of the Contact Group of the League of Arab States (LAS) on Ukraine. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Russian minister also spoke about the situation in Ukraine in the context of the special military operation of the Russian Federation, emphasizing that for Moscow, the unconditional priority is the protection of the civilian population of Donbass, the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.

Lavrov praised the balanced position of the Arab League on this issue, which was confirmed during a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the League’s member countries, held in Cairo on September 6.
