During the arrest, one of the defendants offered armed resistance and was eliminated. Four saboteurs were detained, reported on Thursday, September 22, at the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kherson region.

According to the agency, the saboteurs planned terrorist attacks on civilian facilities to disrupt the referendum and intimidate local residents. During the searches, more than 10 units of various weapons and 2 improvised explosive devices with the equivalent of more than 1 kg of TNT were seized.

“Currently, a criminal case has been initiated, in which the detainees give evidence, including those incriminating other persons in committing acts of sabotage,” – says in the message of the department in the Telegram channel.

Referendums on the entry of the DPR and LPR, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Russian Federation, will be held from September 23 to 27. Representatives of the regions noted that joining Russia would secure their territories and restore historical justice.
