At the briefing, Murat Kanguzhinov, Deputy Head of the Department for Emergency Situations, said that from June 1 to August 31, rescuers went out to patrol dangerous water bodies more than 2,000 times. Managed to save 23 people, including three children.

“Despite the ongoing work, there have been five accidents on the water. One person died when falling into a pond, three while swimming and one while saving drowning people. All the facts were registered in places not equipped for swimming and recreation,” said Murat Kanguzhinov.

The swimming season in the northern region has long ended, but fishing enthusiasts continue to go to the reservoirs. Murat Kanguzhinov recalled that over the past five years, 15 people drowned while fishing.

“We must not forget about the safety rules on the water. It is important to observe elementary precautions in the form of a life jacket and a sober mind,” said Murat Kanguzhinov.
