“Negotiations with the Russian side were conducted by the relevant departments, in particular by the ministers themselves. In the coming hours, Erdogan will hold discussions on this topic,” the TV channel reports. A Haber. At the same time, it is not specified which alternatives Russia and Turkey are considering.

The day before, the CEO of the National Payment Card System (NSPK), the operator of the Mir payment system, said that the level of noise and concerns around Russian cards abroad somewhat exaggerated. According to him, Mir cards still work both in Turkey and in other countries.

Prior to this, about the termination of service for Russian cards declared two Turkish banks – “Ishbank” and “Denizbank”. In Turkey, they said that such a decision is connected with anti-Russian sanctions.

On September 15, the US Treasury published a document according to which Washington is ready to impose sanctions for supporting the use of the Russian NSPK and the Mir payment system outside the Russian Federation. In addition, the acceptance and servicing of Mir cards in foreign banks will depend on the position of the credit institutions themselves.
