Channel 102 received a message from a resident of the capital that a Mercedes-Benz G 500 car was stolen near the entrance of a residential building along B. Momyshuly Avenue. The caller explained that she started the car, leaving the doors unlocked, and left. When she returned, she discovered it was missing and reported it to the police. Police personnel were oriented to search and arrest the hijacker.
During the study of CCTV cameras, it was established that a man was sitting in the courtyard of the house and watching a woman who started the car and went back home. Taking advantage of the moment, he got behind the wheel and collided with a Land Cruiser 200 car and disappeared. An accident was also recorded involving stolen vehicles with a Lexus car at the intersection of Tauelsizdik Avenue and Baitursynov Street.
The hijacker was arrested by the police. According to the results of the examination, a 34-year-old man was in a state of moderate alcohol intoxication. For driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which caused damage to the vehicles, in accordance with part 3 of article 608 of the CRC, administrative proceedings were initiated against the detainee. A pre-trial investigation has been launched under article 200 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Hijacking”.
