China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan transport corridor opened

BISHKEK. KAZINFORM – The first 12 containers of Chinese cargo have been sent by rail from Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan along the new China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan transport corridor, Kazinform correspondent reports from link at the National Company “Kyrgyz Temir Zholu”.

This transit corridor is a multimodal route for the combined transportation of goods from China to Afghanistan through the Kyrgyz Republic and is being implemented within the framework of the agreements reached during a quadripartite meeting of representatives of the railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan with the participation of a Chinese international logistics company, held on September 8-9 in the city of Tashkent.

According to the company, cargo transportation is carried out from the Kashgar railway station (China) to the Osh station (Kyrgyzstan) by road, then by rail through the territory of Uzbekistan to the Mazar-i-Sharif station (Afghanistan).
