A temporary ban on the export of a number of categories of goods, including cars, outside the Republic of Belarus is introduced from September 23, 2022.
As stated in the document, published On the Pravo.by portal, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, aircraft, smartphones and many other categories of goods are prohibited from being exported outside the republic “regardless of their country of origin.” Restrictions also apply to trade with member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Exceptions to the new rule are products “whose Belarusian or Russian origin is confirmed by a certificate” and goods of various categories with an export license issued by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade. In addition, the bans will not affect transit goods.
In total, the list of goods prohibited for export from September 23 includes more than 250 categories. The ban will be in effect until March 2023.
Earlier it became known that Russia and Belarus are preparing several joint projects on import substitutionincluding those related to the automotive industry. The Minsk region will produce LED optics for all types of transport. The second project is aimed at the production of brake systems. BelAZ is involved in the third project, it is associated with the creation of a ring-rolling production.
