Authorities detain three ‘polleros’ and rescue 30 migrants in Nuevo León – The Sun Post

Escobedo. – Elements of the Escobedo Citizen Security Secretariat detained three men who were transporting 30 undocumented immigrants in two vans in a parking lot of a shopping center located on Avenida Raúl Salinas and Las Torres, in the Puerta del Sol subdivision.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security reported that around 11:11 p.m. on Thursday, elements that carried out surveillance work in the sector observed that two white vans with the legend Parcel Express Pablisa were parked in the parking lot of the shopping center, which carry license plates. Coahuila and Mexico City, in addition to a taxi with plates from Nuevo León.

The officers observed that some people were on board the Van and others quickly got into the taxi, in which they would presumably be transferred to safe houses in the City of Saltillo, Coahuila.

When approaching the group of people and talking to them, the officers detected that among them there were 28 Cubans and a man and his daughter from Sri Lanka, a country located south of India.

Among the undocumented are 16 women, 11 men and three girls between 5 and 7 years of age.

In the place, Proxpol elements detained three men who were transferring the undocumented, and were identified as Luis “N”, 34 years old; Gustavo “N”, 27, and Raúl “N”, 28.

The immigrants were transferred to the Ministry of Citizen Security for a medical evaluation, while the men who transferred them remained at the disposal of the corresponding authorities.

Cubans and Sri Lankans were placed at the disposal of the Migration Institute.
