AMLO meeting with businessmen at the National Palace to address price hikes – El Sol de México

Several entrepreneurs from the agri-food sector in Mexico came to National Palace, to eat with the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to establish agreements that reinforce the Package Against Inflation and Famine (PACIC) launched by the president on May 4.

The first industrialist to arrive at the National Palace was Manuel Romo Munoz from “Egg San Juan”. In addition, the arrival of tuna businessmen is expected Antonio Suárez Gutiérrez from Grupo Mar and Leovi Carranza Beltrán from Pinsa.

The invitation to corn flour entrepreneurs stands out Juan Antonio González director of Gruma and Altagracia Gómez of Minsa.

The president highlighted this Wednesday morning that he had reached an agreement with Juan Antonio González to maintain the price of corn flour until February without increases and thus prevent the price of tortillas from rising.

Also attending this meeting Heriberto Hernández from Porcicultores de México and Eugenio Caballero Sada from Sigma Alimentos, as well as Alberto Sepúlveda from Walmart Méxicoamong others.

Before the meeting, Ricardo Sheffield, head of Profeco said that there are no products that are exempt from inflationbut he regretted that there are products that register increases for no reason, such as onions, and said that it is a pity that this meeting is not attended by any producer of this product.
