All polling stations in the Zaporizhia region are taken under heavy armed guard and checked for security. This became known on Thursday, September 22.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies took up round-the-clock duty at the referendum venues. Employees of the interdepartmental commission from the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are responsible for the security of voting, reports RIA News. Particular attention is paid to fire safety and the suppression of possible provocations.
At polling stations, emergency exits, electrical wiring and fire detectors were checked. The places where the referendum will be held were surveyed by sappers. Such checks will go on every day until the voting ends.
A total of 394 polling stations will open in Zaporozhye. Another 102 voting points will operate in Russia, the LPR, the DPR and the Kherson region. The referendum will take place from 23 to 27 September.
