Mobilized citizens of the Russian Federation and their families who purchased tickets for Aeroflot flights before September 21 will be able to return the money.
This was reported by the press service of the air carrier.
“Citizens subject to conscription who purchased transportation before September 21, 2022 (inclusive) are entitled to an involuntary refund of air tickets. PJSC “Aeroflot” recognizes the refusal of such a passenger from carriage as forced and makes a full refund for unused sections of the carriage,” the carrier’s message says.
For a refund, you need to contact the place of purchase of the ticket and present any of the documents confirming the right to terminate the contract, in particular, the summons and the mobilization order.
The company noted that not only mobilized citizens, but also passengers who planned to travel with them will be able to return the money for their tickets. Among them are family members traveling together on the same flight with a citizen, upon presentation of documents confirming kinship; family members who are not traveling together with the mobilized person upon presentation of documents confirming their relationship, as well as passengers registered with the person who is called up in one booking (except for group bookings).
On the eve of September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an appeal to the Russians. The head of state announced a partial mobilization in the country and said that the corresponding order had already been signed. The Russian leader clarified that citizens in the reserve are subject to conscription, all of them will undergo mandatory additional training. According to the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu, a total of 300 thousand reservists will be called up, approximately 1% of the mobilization resource will be used.
