The Kremlin sees no prerequisites for a possible resumption of the negotiation process with Ukraine, Kyiv itself turned out to conduct a dialogue. This was announced on September 23 to journalists by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
“The negotiation process, of course, is in demand. Demanded to achieve our goals. But we do not see any prerequisites for the negotiation process,” he said.
Peskov recalled the words of Vladimir Putin that Ukraine had withdrawn from the negotiation process a few months ago and that the Kyiv side had stated at various levels that it would solve problems on the battlefield. “You know well the reaction of our president,” the spokesman added.
In addition, Peskov declaredthat if the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions vote for joining the Russian Federation, the Constitution of Russia will apply to these territories. So he answered the question about possible attacks by Ukraine.
Also a spokesman for the Kremlin refused to comment on China’s call for the resumption of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine and forwarded this issue to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
September 21 Vladimir Putin informedthat even after the start of the special operation, the representatives of Kyiv “reacted very positively” to Moscow’s proposals during the negotiations, but “the peaceful solution did not suit the West.”
