The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg and the region and the city prosecutor’s office warn against participation in uncoordinated public events. September 23, 2022 – September 23, 2022

The police headquarters informs that all attempts to hold actions that are not agreed upon in the prescribed manner will be stopped.

As the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on September 23, calls for holding such actions in St. Petersburg are being circulated on the Internet. Therefore, police units are taking additional measures to ensure order.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges citizens and guests of the city not to respond to calls, and to warn relatives and friends against this.

Distribution of materials inviting to come to such actions can be qualified as “violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing” (20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) or as “public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation “(20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). Or, as a crime under article 151 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (involving a minor in the commission of antisocial acts) or article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on fakes about a special operation. And according to article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, a person attracted may generally face up to 15 years in a colony.
