In St. Petersburg, the formation of volunteer detachments has been completed. As Fontanka learned on September 22, this was announced during a meeting of the city government last Monday.
The issue of the results of the formation of volunteer units was raised by the chief federal inspector for the North-West, Pavel Dashkov. He asked the military commissar of St. Petersburg, Sergei Kachkovsky, whether there are plans to make personnel changes following the campaign:
“Since July, by decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the district commissariats, in cooperation with the district administrations, have been doing a lot of work on the formation of volunteer units. We observed the activities of the district military commissars on a daily basis. Given that the task has been completed in full, some of the military commissars deserve encouragement. But there are a number of employees who need to make personnel decisions, given their complete professional unsuitability,” Dashkov said. Kachkovsky replied that he would take this into account in his work.
Recruitment of volunteers in a nominal motorized rifle battalion to be sent to Ukraine in St. Petersburg has begun at the end of July.
