The Ministry of Defense clarified who will not fall under partial mobilization

The Department of Defense announced that citizens of a number of organizations will not be involved to partial mobilization. According to the information of the ministry, people with higher education in the relevant specialties and areas of training who work:

  • IT companies (employees involved in the development, development, implementation, maintenance and operation, as well as in ensuring the functioning of the information infrastructure);
  • companies of Russian telecom operators (employees involved in ensuring the stability, security and integrity of the operation of communication facilities, data processing centers, as well as public communication facilities and lines);
  • Media included in the list of backbone media (in the field of information and communications, as well as their interdependent persons who are the founder / editorial board / publisher of a registered media outlet / broadcaster of a TV channel, radio channel and media involved in the production / distribution of media products);
  • banking sector (ensuring the stability of the national payment system and financial market infrastructure, banking liquidity management, cash circulation).

“The lists of citizens submitted by the heads of the relevant organizations in the prescribed form to the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces will be considered the basis for exemption from the involvement of citizens in military service for mobilization,” the Defense Ministry said.

Part-time students can be called up for partial mobilization

Correspondence students of Russian universities may be called upь within the framework of partial mobilization by decision of the draft commission. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the project “Explain.rf”.

– The call of students studying at the full-time department for mobilization is not planned. Correspondence students can be attracted by the decision of the draft commission for mobilization, the report says.

Mobilized saved jobs

Government approved the resolution on the preservation of jobs for mobilized citizens. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet. Employment contracts with those called up for partial mobilization will be suspended, but not terminated.

– Mobilized citizens will be able to keep the employment contract and later return to their previous place of work. The changes necessary for this have been made to the specifics of the legal regulation of labor relations in force in 2022 and 2023, and approved by a resolution signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The government clarified that the decision applies to legal relations that arose from September 21, 2022.
