Donald Trump: Trump accused of fraud, September 21, 2022 – September 22, 2022

Former US President Donald Trump has been accused of massive fraud. The lawsuit was filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, reported September 21 CNN and The Hill.

She believes the Trump Organization inflated the value of Trump’s assets to secure lucrative loans and also cheated to pay lower taxes. James has listed over 200 such cases in 10 years.

James is seeking $250 million in punitive damages and also wants Trump and his children named in the lawsuit to be permanently banned from serving as officers or directors of any New York company. In addition, she asks to ban Trump and his organization from applying for loans and acquiring commercial real estate in the state for five years.

The defendants, in addition to the former president, include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, as well as former Trump Organization officials Allen Weisselberg and Jeff McConnie.

James believes they may have violated state and criminal laws. The investigation has been going on for a long time, and Trump himself called his witch hunt.
